Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan addresses supporters of his Justice and Development Party during a rally in Istanbul, Turkey, Sunday, March 23, 2014. Turkish fighter jets shot down a Syrian warplane after it violated Turkey's airspace Sunday, Erdogan said, in a move likely to ramp up tensions between the two countries already deeply at odds over Syria's civil war. Erdogan is fighting corruption allegations against his government a week before local elections that are seen as a referendum over his rule.
